Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Health Visiting.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to offer a suitable applicant an exciting opportunity to develop their career by undertaking Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Health Visitor training. This is offered as a fixed term contract for 12 months starting in September 2025.
Main duties of the job
- To work towards gaining the standards of proficiency for entry to the NMC register Part 3.
- Full-time study commencing September 2025 for 12 months.
- 50% of the course is academic delivered at MSc level by the University of the West England (UWE).
- Travel to Bristol will be required for study sessions.
- 50% of the course will be delivered locally within Torbay.

- The Torbay 0 to 19 Partnership is a collaboration between health visiting, school nursing and Action for Children. The student SCPHN will work alongside a practice assessor and supervisor who will offer support and learning outcomes for practice. Students will be based within a 0-19 Team in Torbay. During this time skills will be developed to enable the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in a variety of community settings, including the family home environment, children's centres, schools and nurseries, whilst working as part of a skill mix team.
