Job summary
We are excited to advertise a New Substantive Consultant Orthopaedic post within The Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a dynamic engaged candidate to be appointed as Substantive Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma surgeon, with a specialist interest in lower limb hip & knee arthroplasty, revision hip surgery, and to help with the management of periprosthetic fractures.
This post has a 10PA job plan and on-call commitment to a 1 in 12 rota.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to provide:
A high quality elective arthroplasty and revision service, including MDT
A high quality trauma service, including managing the oncall week, operating/clinics/oncalls.
Effective/ efficient working to improve the overall efficiency and financial viability of the service
A reduction in the referral to treatment time for patients
Teaching/ support to Residents and Medical Students
Support for local/ National audit

- CCT Specialist Registration or will obtain within 6 months of interview date.
