Job summary

As a Senior Support Developer, you will join the Application Management Services team to deliver integration, Microsoft 365 and Clinical Systems support, configuration, and development. You will provide solutions for clinical staff's daily activities and support IT systems managed by the team. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members and aid in their skill development.

The Trust is about to embark on the One Devon EPR deployment programme, and the team will be integral in the interface development support the programme, as well as BAU support for the initial Beaker module that went live in November 24.

You will be working as part of an expansive service driven organisation. Maintaining services and developing solutions to support both frontline and back office staff in delivering patient care within the NHS.

You will be collaborating as part of a diverse and multi-skilled team, working together towards common goals and objectives, whilst acting as a technical support lead as a deputy for the AMS Support Manager.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop bespoke software solutions across a wide array of technologies, in line with the requirements of the business and as determined by the AMS Development Manager and/or AMS Senior Management.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle; analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, and support whilst ensuring that the system is in line with all relevant policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in HIS projects, providing the technical deliverables to budget and timelines. Working with others within the team, overseeing collaborative delivery of developments.
  • Acting as a leadership figure for more junior members of the team, providing support, cross training and skills development to expand the tea knowledge base
  • Liaising with all groups of staff affected by the solution developments that they are working on. Clinical & Non-Clinical system developments support the clinical and administrative processes associated with the delivery of patient care and will therefore have a direct impact upon the staff and patients using the system.
  • Manage allocated information assets to ensure adherence to the local and national policies and procedures and the associated information risk and issues logs
  • Acting as a deputy for the AMS Support Manager.

About us

The AMS team are responsible for the support and development of integrated IT solutions to support the day-to-day clinical activities of the Trust, utilising a number of key 3rd party IT systems and some bespoke development. The team will play an integral part in developing the interfaces to support the One Devon EPR programme which will deliver EPIC, an integrated EPR solution to support the patients in Devon.
