An exciting job role has become available on Simpson Ward for a band 4 Nursing Associate role.

Our Nursing Associate will primarily support the nursing and medical teams to treat patients with long-term conditions and complex health and social care needs including patients with dementia. You will also support the team in the facilitation of early discharge from hospital where appropriate.

You will demonstrate a range of clinical skills and competencies along with excellent communication skills providing advice and information to patients and relatives with the aim of enabling maximum independence and optimum quality of life.

As part of this role you will work as part of a team, delivering health and social care that focuses on the holistic needs of the patients on the ward.

Main duties of the job

  • You will primarily support the community nurse team in delivering care to clients with long-term conditions and complex health and social care needs across the community nursing and Intermediate Care Service.
  • You will also support the team in the facilitation of early discharge from hospital where appropriate.
  • Will demonstrate a range of clinical skills and competencies along with excellent communication skills providing advice and information to clients and carers with the aim of maintaining them in their own homes enabling maximum independence and optimum quality of life.

Our working hours are 07:30-20:00 or night duties 19:30-08:00 with various shift patterns and weekend working on a rota basis.

  • Trust induction training

  • Experience in a acute setting

  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
