There are no set entry requirements to become a Healthcare Support Worker though a basic level of literacy and numeracy skills are expected, and a recent experience gained in the care sector is essential. You will need a mix of skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships and effective time management.
Allerton Ward are recruiting for full time or part time permanent Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our caring, committed and inclusive team at Torbay Hospital working days, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rota.

Main duties of the job
As Healthcare Support Worker you will look after a variety of patients with different health concerns, and will make a real difference to someone's quality of life!
- Observing, monitoring and recording patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.
- Communicating with patients, relatives and carers, and assisting with clinical duties.
- Providing personal care including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety.
