Job summary

The Learning Disability Service is a Specialist service consisting of Learning Disability Nurses , Clinical Psychologists & Support Assistants who offer a range of services for children and adolescents with a diagnosed Learning Disability , from assessment and intervention to consultation, liaison and training for other agencies. The service can support Children & Adolescents with a moderate to profound Learning Disability, in conjunction with complex behavioural or Sleep issues related to this diagnosis.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the Clinical lead in supervising staff and trainees within the Pathway as appropriate.

  • Taking a leadership role in the clinical psychology service within the Specialist Learning Disability Pathway provided by Family Health Devon Service Directorate, promoting clinical governance and quality improvement.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within professional and guidelines as specialist within Child & Family Health Devon Service Directorate.
  • The post holder will receive regular professional and clinical supervision in accordance to Trust policy and Professional Practice Guidelines set out by the Health Professions Council / British Psychological Society or appropriate designated Professional Body.

  • Car Driver
