Job summary

A fantastic opportunity for a Psychologist with experience of working with children and young people presenting with physical health difficulties and their families to Lead the Paediatric Psychology Service based at Torbay Hospital. In co-ordination with the Head of Service for Clinical Health Psychology, you will oversee the operation of Paediatric Psychology, support the management and supervision of staff and lead on service developments to ensure an effective, efficient, well-led service, ensuring our patients and families reman at the centre of our work.

Main duties of the job

Collaborating with the Head of Clinical Health Psychology, you will develop research- and formulation-driven service design for Paediatric Psychology

Developing and maintaining key relationships with service leads and staff to ensure work is done and problems are managed. Drawing on systemic working experience to facilitate this.

Clinical and professional supervision of Psychology staff atlower bandings.

To hold a small therapy caseload for Paediatric Psychology.

To train and upskill team members and other healthcare professionals in psychological skills, theory and knowledge, including consultation.

To develop and deliver teaching / training / consultation sessions as needed.

To liaise with stakeholders and relevant healthcare professionals across the region to enable joined-up working.

The Clinical Health Psychology team at Torbay Hospital have been working on clarifying our position as a Lifespan Clinical Health Psychology service and implementing new ways of working across the board.
