Job summary
Rainbow Day Nursery is the workplace nursery for staff working for Torbay and South Devon NHS foundation Trust.
We are a busy nursery set in beautiful grounds on The Annexe site at Torbay Hospital open all year round (excluding bank holidays).
We are seeking to recruit an experienced, conscientious, warm and reliable Nursery Secretary to work in our busy nursery office, and compliment our outstanding nursery team.
The working hours are 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a highly organised and efficient in all administrative duties and be working in a public facing role in our busy and friendly workplace nursery.
The Nursery secretary is the sole post holder within the nursery, but works closely alongside the Nursery Managers and Deputy Nursery Managers.
The working hours are 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (6 hours per day). We would expect the shift pattern to be 9am-3pm, but would be open to discuss a slight variation to this to if required.

The Nursery Secretary is the first point of contact for incoming phone calls, emails, and visitors to the nursery.
The post holder will support the whole nursery team with;
- General administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, photocopying, printing, laminating, typing etc.
- collating and printing registers
- updating menus and dietary requirements for children
- overseeing the free milk order for children
- liaising with other departments regarding supplies, maintenance, supplies
- keeping control of stock such as cleaning supplies and ordering/receipting goods
- overseeing the petty cash
- submitting early years funding claims and being point of contact for parents and early years at Torbay council
- Co-ordinating health and safety checks such as fire evacuations, and documenting the outcome

- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant admin qualification
- Proven experience of using IT systems
- Understanding of professionalism & confidentiality
