Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Medical Workforce team that will utilize your existing HR skills and develop new ones. We will provide the successful candidate with the knowledge and skills to carry out the role successfully and fully involve them in the development of our service and team.

For this role, we are looking for HR professionals who have experience with general HR and who are keen to learn more about the Medical Workforce.

The candidate would ideally have some knowledge of medical terms and conditions. However, the team will support and fill those gaps to build that knowledge. You will be a key link for our management teams in all matters relating to junior and senior medical staff.

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent, part CIPD qualified to Level 5 (or equivalent) with demonstrable operational HR experience, putting knowledge into practice.

You should have the ability to proactively manage your workload and be able to adjust to changing work environments whilst managing conflicting priorities.

Main duties of the job

The Medical HR Officer will act as the first point of contact for managers and staff for all Medical HR queries, providing speciality advice where appropriate, and a consistent, professional and effective human resource service in relation to medical staffing issues offering solutions to service users in accordance with Trust policy, employment law and agreed service levels.

o Delivers a comprehensive range of Medical Human Resources services and provides advice and support to managers and medics on the application of Medical HR policies and procedures to ensure the Trust adheres to best practice and current legislationo Acts as a first point of contact in providing operational medical HR advice and guidance to managers and staff in management of attendance, terms and conditions of employment, conduct and capability, grievance, performance management, change management, retention and redeployment, dignity at worko To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

It is responsible for supporting our Medical Staff with regardsto all aspects of Medical HR, Strategy, planningand Organisational Development.

The Trust provides high quality training to Medical & Dental Students and Doctors in Training.We work in collaboration with our local partners in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education training programmes.
