2x ENT Consultants: Torbay Hospital, Torquay, Devon.

Job 1: Consultant Benign & Malignant Head & Neck Surgeon: The Head & Neck surgeon will join the team of an established consultant at Torbay & another shared with Exeter.
Job 2: Consultant Rhinologist: We provide a generalist rhinology service and are looking for the Rhinologist to deliver our subspecialist rhinology care.
We want to appoint individuals who will fit into our team and whose skillset would complement the current and future needs of the department, specifically a Head & Neck Cancer surgeon & a Rhinologist. There would also be a general ENT commitment.
Main duties of the job
The Department:
We will have a complement of 7 consultants supported by middle grades and a dedicated ENT junior tier so the successful candidates would participate in a 1:7general ENT on call rota covering only Torbay Hospital & there would be some general ENT workload as part of the practice.
We are a close knit, friendly team who genuinely get on and support each other.
We have a record of enabling colleagues to fulfil their potential with members of the consultant team having held positions of responsibility in education (TPD roles) & organisations at a national level, including leadership roles in ENT-UK, SAC, RSM, YCOHNS and examining for the Royal Colleges & we enthusiastically embrace new technologies.

The Trust:
Torbay Hospital has led nationally on many levels particularly in Day Case Surgery and in developing an integrated approach to healthcare. At present it is a particularly exciting time for the Trust as it has secured funding through 'the New Hospitals Programme' and has now embarked on a major transformation of the Estate and IT ('Building a Better Future' project). This will take it to the forefront in the delivery of care with the building of two additional day surgery theatres in progress having completed the new state of the art Medical Receiving Unit to help relieve acute pressures as the first steps in the regeneration project. - Full GMC Registration (with licence to practice).
- CCT Specialist Registration or will obtain within 6 months of interview date.
- Attainment of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exam in ENT: FRCS-ORL(HNS) by interview
- Minimum of English Level 2 (GCSE grade C or equivalent), IELTS or graduate of a UK Medical School.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for urgent clinical care of all patients in General ENT/Head and Neck
- Ability to offer an expert clinical opinion on general and, if appropriate, subspecialist interest ENT problems.
Desirable
- Distinctions, scholarships, prizes.
- Other degrees, e.g. BSc, MSc, MD.
- Evidence of advanced experience and expertise in Generic Professional Capabilities such as Leadership/management, teaching/training, service improvement, research.
