Job summary
Torbay Pharmaceuticals has exciting growth plans, to support this, we are looking for a Supplier Development Specialist to work with our product development team, suppliers and operational leads. The role will take a lead in sourcing new materials, supporting suppliers through our supplier approval process and developing the relationship going forward with a view to achieving the best possible price, service and quality.
The job holder will also develop our Vendor Scorecard system, reporting back to the management team and working with suppliers that need improvement
Main duties of the job
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Have a least 2 years Supplier Management Experience
- Ability to negotiate, influence and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong commercial background and experience of writing business cases
- Self-motivated & Self-confident
- Computer literate - able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, project and outlook: and access the internet.
- A corporate player - able to link successfully strategy and operations
- Have the drive and enthusiasm to ensure success.

The role will involve:
- Developing new supply sources to improve cost competitiveness, availability and to reduce stock holdings
- To ensure that Good Distribution Practice (GDP) is put in place and followed with all new suppliers
- Conduit between TP and the supplier with regard to product introduction.
- Drive the internal processes required to introduce goods and services into a Pharmaceutical regulated facility, whilst adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations.
- Cross functional program management to qualify new goods and services.
- Support the auditing team with arranging and completing supplier audits
- Responsible for the ownership of issues reported with goods and services, working with internal and external partners to resolve (in line with cGMP expectations)
- Responsible for the Vendor Scorecard system on Winman (ERP System)
- Make recommendations to the Head of Supply Chain and Procurement with regard to new supplier choices
- To be the first point of contact between the New Product Development function and Supply Chain with regard to sourcing and obtaining pricing for new Goods and Services.
- Responsible for completing and updating Supply Chain Maps for all cGMP materials.
- Represent the Supply Chain function on New Product Development project meetings where new goods and services are required.
- Aid the tendering function to obtain User Requirement Specifications from internal customers to enable formal tenders to be completed when appropriate.
