Job summary
We are looking to recruit helpful, friendly, highly motivated, and well organised individuals to be part of our Telephony Team based at Regent House, Torquay. The post offers an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development and would suit someone who desires to develop within IT communications. Key duties of the role include:
- Administrative tasks such as order processing/tracking/fulfillment and maintenance of directory data
- Taking ownership of and resolving telephony issues raised through the IT Servicedesk
- Use of management systems to administer the Cisco telephony and mobile infrastructure
- Installations/moves of telephony equipment
The role requires excellent customer-facing skills, attention to detail, working under pressure, and strong organisation/administrative skills. There is a technical element to the role (for which training/shadowing will be provided) but it would also suit applicants from an administrative background.
The job is based at Regent House, Torquay, but will require travel to other locations throughout South Devon to support our many community sites. A full UK manual driving licence is therefore required.
The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach, a 'can-do' attitude, and work as part of a team to ensure maximum availability of services to users.

Main duties of the job
Communication and Working Relationships
- Build productive working dialogues with stakeholders such as clinicians, customer organisations, other technical or non-technical teams, other NHS organisations and suppliers
- Help to maintain effective communication within and between teams
Planning and Organisation
- Ensure effective scheduling and deployment of resources
- Plan non-BAU activities such as project work effectively
Responsibility and Accountability
- Accountable to Network, Server and Telephony Manager, IT Operations Manager and HIS Director
- Take accountability to internal or external parties where necessary
Policy and Service Responsibility
- Take responsibility for delivering services to contractual SLAs
- Ensure services are delivered in compliance with established standards such as ITIL Service Management
Responsibility for Finance, Equipment and Other Resources
- Contribute to the effective management of Telephony equipment and resources
Responsibility for Supervision, Leadership and Management
- None
Information Technology and Administrative Duties
- Extensive use of standard IT products & technologies for office productivity tasks
- Display good levels of technical proficiency in Telephony systems/processes
