Our Digital Education & Innovation teams are looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable, well organised and innovative person to join them as a Digital Innovation Facilitator.
The Digital Innovation Facilitator will support the Trusts Digital and Educational Strategies as well as the Building a Brighter Futures programme. They will do this through providing insight and facilitation of current and new digital technologies for enabling a digitally confident and innovative workforce that understand the potential for technology approaches to support the delivery of the organization's care model now and in the future.
The Digital Innovation Facilitator is an exciting role that would see the post-holder having hands on opportunity and practical theory around new and emerging digital technologies being introduced and explored in healthcare. In addition, the role in its facilitation function will support others by providing guidance, knowledge exchange, training, workshops and education to our staff and partners in our digital innovation lab, known as Digital Futures.
Our Innovation Labs include technologies such as 3D printing, VR&AR hardware, 3D scanning, 360 video capture and simulation technologies.
Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of this role is to support and facilitate activity involved in the Digital Futures Hub, namely workforce interactions, deep dives, projects and workshops involving immersive and emerging digital technologies. Core of these technologies will be building on our Trust reputation around XR Technology and immersive content creation, particularly when supporting teams to realise adoption and implementation potential.
This will include supporting research, prototyping and engagement by providing technical expertise or assisting in custom content creation. Horizon scanning activities and keeping abreast of the developing digital health and technology landscape and wider afield will also be vital.
Additionally, some experience and understanding of content creation, either or both in immersive video content creation or 3D content (such as in Unity) will be of benefit for prototyping of internal ideas and solutions.
The role will also be required to support current projects that link in with our simulation and digital education teams, so an understanding of digital education, digitally enabled learning or simulation would be of benefit.
The post holder will work closely across our digital learning and innovation teams and will be line managed by the Head of Digital Technologies. The role will be required to work autonomously at times and with their own initiative to organise meetings and engagement with the Digital Futures hub.

- Support project PIDs and highlight reports around lab/equipment usage.
- Understand and contribute technical insights to our innovation pathways.
- Ensure the right people are invited for meetings, as well as organizing and facilitating these events and workshops.
- Support the production of project reports when required
- Attend relevant meetings, documenting outreach and engagement.
- Involvement in any aspect relating to relevant projects including training, communications, testing and workshops.
- Liaising with partners and third-party suppliers
The post holder will also on occasion assist with other TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning) projects across the Directorate, with will include our in-house television studio and our simulation XR projects in education.
The Digital Innovation Facilitator will be required to help advise, inform and recommend investment of new technologies and programs of work. The post holder will also be responsible for our current inventory of digital technologies in the labs and its safe operation and keeping.
