Job summary

We are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, empathetic and friendly Outpatient Receptionist to join our busy outpatient services. This is a varied and important role, where you will be the first point of contact for patients, families and staff, helping to ensure clinics across Medicine and Surgery run smoothly and that patients receive a high standard of care.

Working across a number of reception areas within the Trust (locations may change to meet service need), you will provide a welcoming and professional service while also supporting clinical teams with a wide range of administrative duties.

Main duties of the job

o Greet and assist patients, families and visitors in a professional and friendly mannero Prepare clinics and ensure patient outcomes are recorded accurately and in a timely wayo Update and maintain patient records using PAS/Careflowo Respond to queries from patients, relatives and staff at all levelso Liaise with clinic coordinators to ensure appropriate patient follow-upo Arrange patient transport and liaise with porters when requiredo Manage and action generic email inboxeso Chase outstanding queries with departments, teams and clinicians across multiple specialtieso Scan clinical and paper documents into Evolve promptlyo Escalate issues to the line manager where appropriateo Provide general administrative support to the serviceo Support the induction and training of new team members
