Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiasticClinical Fellow in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeryto support clinical service delivery across a busy and varied multi-site department. This post is designed to provide excellent experience in the specialty and is ideal for candidates with prior OMFS training looking to further their skills in a supportive environment.
This fixed-term post aims to ensure the continuity of high-quality patient care across our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS).
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Fellow will apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement, prioritise patient care, and demonstrate technical competence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The role involves maintaining a surgical logbook, engaging in audit, research, and quality improvement activities, and contributing to teaching and learning. Candidates should show commitment to professional development, understanding of training programmes, and a reflective, evidence-based approach to clinical practice.

- At least 12 months experience in Core Surgical Training, or equivalent by the start date of the post for the vacancy

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Full GDC registration or a fully UK registerable dental qualification by the advertised post start date for the vacancy
- Successful completion of MRCS (Part A) by interview date
- Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise1 from, the GMC by the advertised post start date for the vacancy.
- Evidence of achievement of CT/ST1 and CT/ST2 competences in core surgery by the advertised post start date for the vacancy1, acceptable evidence includes satisfactory ARCP outcome of completion of Core Surgical Training programme or a completed Certificate of Readiness to Enter Higher Surgical Training
- Be eligible to work in the UK
