What is the role of a Bank Health Care Support Worker at UHBW?

In order to undertake this role you must:

- Have acute experience working within a healthcare setting within the past 12 months OR are a Student Nurse in your second year having completed a placement in an acute hospital setting - please ensure this is documented in your application.

- Have a minimum of an NVQ level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or GCSE A*- D in English/ Math's or equivalent.

- Be able to work a minimum of 2 shifts, in a rolling 3 month period and remain compliant with all essential training, to remain in post

- Please note you will be expected to do 5 days of induction within a week period

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play an essential role in supporting the delivery of the highest standard of quality care to our patients, working alongside registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. Your role will include a wide range of tasks, from providing personal and intimate care to undertaking clinical observations. A Health Care Support Worker will be competent to provide compassionate care to agreed quality standards.

You will be required to follow stringent policies such as infection control and manual handling policies, and keep your clinical and non-clinical colleagues informed of outcomes. In addition you will be providing emotional and practical support to patient & their families. You will require an adaptable and flexible approach to enable you to adapt to situations that change quickly.
