Job summary
The Medical Illustration team at UHBW are looking for an enthusiastic and creative part-time Clinical Videographer to join our growing team. Since the video service was started at UHBW just over six years ago, demand for video has grown in the Trust. As a team, we provide in-house video solutions that cover clinical videography, patient information videos, training films, recruitment and other promotional materials, including some internal communications.
This role will involve working onsite in the Bristol based office.
We are looking for a passionate, forward-thinking and considerate individual to complement our growing team of photographers and videographers. Someone who is keen to work for NHS and enthusiastic about putting their skills to use within the National Health Service, where patient care comes first.
Main duties of the job
This role will help to ensure we deliver a comprehensive clinical & non-clinical video service to the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and external clients, ensuring all work is produced to the highest possible standards within budget constraints and the timescale allowed. The Medical Illustration service is customer-focused and involves providing support and advice to clients. The media produced is used for patient records, publication, teaching and promotional purposes.
You will be working with existing team members, healthcare professionals, clients and patients to ensure all video projects are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

Essential
- Physically capable of carrying equipment round the hospital site, rapidly positioning cameras and lighting to precise locations and working in awkward positions (e.g. kneeling, crouching) to record patients in a range of clinical environments, exhibiting high levels of hand eye co-ordination
- Ability to view high volumes of images using display screens and use video production equipment which will require a high level of concentration
- Able to work in potentially upsetting environments, including to witness results of injury, disease or in the presence of the recently bereaved
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Demonstrate high level of skills in the use of digital video equipment and lighting, both in the studio and on location, to achieve high quality video
- Excellent standard of IT skills. Ability to use the following software packages: Microsoft Office and Adobe creative cloud (in particular: Premier Pro)
- Able to prioritise and manage own workload and demonstrate flexible working, adjusting work plans of self and others to meet an unpredictable workload
- Able to work effectively both under own initiative and as a team member
- Willingness to learn and develop CPD

- Reference based evidence of extensive practical experience in videography and editing of a consistently high standard

- Experience of managing and using motion graphics and animation with film

- Possess a degree in film or related media subject or and equivalent level of knowledge and experience
- You will on occasion be required to travel to other locations in the Southwest. You must have a driving license

- Willingness to use of own car/vehicle
