Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, flexible and organised person to join our team at the Bristol Dental Hospital as a registration clerk If you enjoy working with a wide variety of people, can work accurately and meet tight deadlines, and would like to work within a busy hospital setting, we want to hear from you.
The post holder will require excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure and good organisational/interpersonal skills. They should also be able to independently manage their own workload.
This is a full time, band 2 position.
Main duties of the job
Communication:
To liaise with patient, clinical staff, GP's and trust support staff in person, via telephone and email as and when necessary.
Escalate patient queries and general issues to the roles line manager or relevant clinical staff as appropriate.
Patient Care:
To show a caring and professional approach towards patient, relatives and carers. This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometime distressing patient and relatives in an empathetic manner.
Organisation and planning:
To carry out associated clerical duties, for example maintaining accurate filing systems, receiving post, diary management and scanning of patients notes as required.
To keep patient information material up to date.
To attend appropriate meetings as required by your line manager.
Service Development:
Attend training courses required to support personal development and the needs of the service.
Assist in the training of new members of staff.
To take part in departmental audits and associated duties.
