Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Adult Therapy Services Department in the Critical Care, Cardiac & Surgery Team as a Band 3 Therapy technician. You will :

  • look after patients in the Bristol Heart Institute, who have been admitted for cardiac surgery/ cardiology procedures;
  • work as an integral member of the Multi disciplinary team;
  • join ourlarge and inspirational Adult Therapies Service as UHBW;
  • Adult therapiesis made up of 400 colleagues who collaboratively; work across Bristol & Weston sites;

Main duties of the job

Therapy Technicians work alongside Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists to support the delivery of effective treatment and rehabilitation plans to enable patients to recover from illness, injury or surgery and be safely discharged from hospital. Working as part of an integrated therapy team this role involves working with a range of problems and conditions in an acute hospital environment. There will be some administrative tasks as part of the role.

When working in an inpatient setting, Therapy Technicians will contribute to a Saturday service (one Saturday every 4 weeks, with a compensatory day off in the week) and a bank holiday service (2 bank holidays per year). A flexible approach to working is therefore essential.

The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, experience of working as part of a team, and great time management skills. Previous experience of working within the NHS or a rehabilitation setting would be of an advantage.
