We are currently recruiting for a 24 month fixed term position.

The Band 6 Fire Safety Adviser assumes a pivotal role, working closely with the Principal Fire Officer to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive fire safety programs and policies. With a primary objective of ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and NHS facilities, this role encompasses a range of critical responsibilities.

Main duties of the job

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of fire risks and develop strategies for effective mitigation.
  • Facilitate fire safety training programs and conduct regular fire drills to ensure preparedness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain effective communication with pertinent authorities, including local fire services, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the Principal Fire Officer in discharging responsibilities ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation such as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, NHS HTM05:01, and other associated guidance.
  • Provide and receive information regarding fire safety legislation, staying abreast of updates and amendments to enhance the Trust's adherence to standards.
