Following the approval of the Digital Strategy we will be undertaking an ambitious programme of work to deliver a range of state-of-the-art clinical IT solutions across the Trust to fully digitize our patient records and provide clinical staff with fast, simple and controlled access to patient data. This will be supported by a modern fit for purpose infrastructure and links to our Group Hospital partner, North Bristol Trust.
UHBW is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and experienced IT support engineer to join our large support team reporting to the deputy desktop support manager. Working in our 'outstanding' hospitals, focused around desktop and mobile devices so the successful candidate should have experience working with Apple and Android devices as well as desktop and laptop computers. A proven track record in excellent customer service is crucial in this busy role. Work will be based around the main hospital campus in central Bristol, however the Trust has sites throughout the city, so access to transport is essential.
The post holder should have at least two years' experience working in an I.T. support role. An MCSE or MCDST qualification is desirable but not essential. Experience working within an ITIL based environment would be beneficial as would experience with Apple DEP and VPP systems.
Main duties of the job
- 1. Mobile device support
The build, deployment, administration and support of the Trust's mobile device fleet
2. Installation of IT equipment
Imaging and encryption of new devices
Deployment of equipment
3. Responsible for the resolution of user problems:
Resolving problems within a reasonable timeframe (SLA) either by correcting or escalating to the relevant support organisation;
Keeping the end user informed of progress as appropriate;
Ensuring that all actions relating to the problem are recorded on the Service Desk system in a timely fashion;
Reporting all exceptions to the Desktop Support Manager for further escalation.
4. Provision of support for the following:
Project implementation
Windows 10
iOS and Android
Hardware fault diagnosis/resolution on PCs, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals
