Job summary

The Bristol Heart Institute is looking for an exceptional individual to join the Management Team as an Assistant General Manager for CardiacServices. We are looking for a highly credible candidate who will provide strategic and operational leadership to the department and work as partof the existing team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient care.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of operational service management, and a commitment to continuous service development and improvement. They will be an effective and inclusive communicator who can motivate and influence different clinical and non-clinical teams to achieve objectives.

As the major tertiary cardiac centre for the South-West of England, the Bristol Heart Institute delivers a full range of specialist cardiology services,as well as offering one of the largest cardiac surgery programmes in the UK. The department has expanded rapidly in recent years, witha new catheter lab, consultant appointments and expansion of the cath lab workforce.

The role also offers an exciting system leadership opportunity, working closely with our neighbouring acute provider to develop an improved, seamless cardiology service for our local and regional patients.

Main duties of the job

The role will support the General Manager/Deputy Divisional Director and be responsible for managing teams to provide the day to day servicesas well as having key project, performance, governance, business planning, strategic and transformational responsibilities.
