Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to work in our busy Trauma & Orthopaedic Outpatient Department at Weston General Hospital.

This may also involve rotation opportunities to the Orthopaedic Elective Unit (Knightstone Ward). This is a Full Time 37.5 hour a week permanent position.

You will be required to plan, implement, evaluate and take responsibility of the nursing care provided to the patients attending our clinics.

Duties will include performing and supporting patients undergoing a variety of trauma and orthopaedic procedures. You will need to display excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills as the orthopaedic service is an ever changing environment.

NMC registration is essential.

Main duties of the job

Communication and Relationship skills:

o Demonstrate politeness, courtesy and sensitivity in providing compassionate care for patients, visitors/relatives and colleagues.

o Contribute towards sharing good practice within the ward/department and Trust wide.

o Promote a positive image of University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust at all times.

o Work cohesively with all members of the team and promote effective liaison with all members of the multi-disciplinary team in ensuring that the very best services to patients are provided at all times.

o Communicate effectively within the team, participate in motivating and supporting team members and maintain confidentiality with patients and carers. Give written and verbal advice/teaching to patients and carers.
