Endoscopy/ Ward Staff Nurse
We are seeking experienced surgical nurses for our purpose built unit in the leafy surroundings of SBCH, Hengrove. Our current vacancies are in endoscopy and the pre-and post-operative ward area.

Perhaps this is near where you live or you want a change of scene from the city centre hospitals? You won't need to work night duty or on-call but you will need to be flexible to work a range of shifts across the week. Shift times include 0730 to 2000, 0800 to 1800, 0800 to 1615 and work across the trust.
We provide a wide variety of specialties and services. The unit provides a state of the art endoscopy service. Including; Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Colorectal, Max fax, Oculoplastic. Upper Gastrointestinal (GI), Cardioversions, Pain lists and Endoscopy lists Gastroscopy's and Colonoscopy's.
If you have endoscopy experience we would love to hear from you, but we are mostly looking for compassionate, dedicated nurses who want to give the very best care to our patients. There are plenty of training opportunities and many new skills to learn.

Main duties of the job
This is a nurse led unit.
- 2- 3 trained on 07:30 shifts to aid admissions and preparations for theatres and endoscopy procedures.
- Admit and discharge patients.
- Must be computer literate
- Cannulate patients prior to going for their procedures.
- Sometimes patients require hoisting, but there are other members of staff around to support this process.
- Recovering of patients after a Genera l Anaesthetic in 1st stage and 2nd stage recovery areas.
- Required to do at least 1x 19:00 or 20:00 finish shift per week.
- Within the Endoscopy Rooms - must be able to handle a scope and assist the Endoscopist in various procedures once trained and competent to do so.
- Ordering of Pharmacy for the unit.
- Occasional pushing of trolleys when porters are not available.
