Job summary
A vacancy has arisen in the Goods In Area of the Pharmacy Department at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, for a full-time Band 2 Pharmacy Storekeeper.
The main duties will include receiving pharmaceutical deliveries and reconciling orders against delivery notes, recording batch numbers and expiry dates, re-locating medicines to identified storage areas and using the Pharmacy computer system. There will be a requirement (after appropriate training) to transport palletised goods.
This role would suit a motivated, conscientious and hardworking individual, with good communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to work to a consistently high level of accuracy in a busy environment and has the ability to handle heavy repetitive loads in high quantities.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake pharmacy services training.
Hours - 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the daily operation of the pharmacy store to ensure all aspects of receiving, accepting and re-distribution of deliveries from suppliers are on time, accurate and in accordance with standard operating procedures and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) (EU GDP 2013/C 343/01)
- Responsible for the warehouse management of the intravenous (IV) bulk fluid store and to place IV fluid orders using the pharmacy computer system. To receive deliveries from suppliers and handle heavy loads (15- 22 kilos per load) over several hours each day
- To process orders and credits via the pharmacy computer system in accordance with goods receiving procedures and to liaise with the Pharmacy Purchasing team to ensure effective goods receipt/credit
- To undertake the safe process of decanting liquid Nitrogen into dewars

Essential
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at level C/4 or equivalent, including Maths, English Language and Science
Desirable
- Certified electric pedestrian stacker truck (or equivalent) operator
Knowledge and Experience

- Working knowledge of hospital pharmacy
- Experience of working with stock management IT systems
- In depth knowledge and clear understanding of Good Distribution Practice (EU GDP 2013/C 343/01), and other relevant regulation, guidance and quality standards
