Job summary

We have 2 exciting opportunities in the Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy team at UHBW.

1x full time static post until 31st May 25 based in the Bristol Trauma and Orthopaedic team .

1x full time permanent post in the Weston Trauma and Orthopaedic team

The successful applicants will be working in their teams and supported by team leads, a pathway lead and have access to clinical specialists. You will have flexibility to work with teams on both sites. Both teams have regular in-service training and clinical supervision to support development.

Successful candidates will support their teams to deliver high quality therapy to trauma and orthopaedic patients. The successful candidate for Weston will have the opportunity to support patients on the trauma and elective surgery pathway. The successful candidate for the Bristol post will work with trauma, neuro trauma such as head injuries and spinal injuries.

The post holders will be part of a weekend working rota and work x2 bank holidays per year.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide an efficient and integrated therapeutic assessment and rehabilitative service to patients referred for Occupational Therapy
  • Band 6 OTs will be required to supervise junior OTs and unqualified staff.
  • Band 6 staff will take some responsibility towards the smooth running of the department as requested and can deputise in the absence of the band 7 for some activities.
  • Staff will be required to cross-cover to other wards during periods of absence.
  • There will be regular support and supervision from a Band 7 OT or equivalent.
  • The post holder will be required to work shifts including weekends and to participate in the bank holiday rota (2 per year).
