Job summary

Working as part of the support team, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of system workflows and hardware support to the Trust's Radiology system's users.

Particular focus will be around the Trust RIS and PACS support, consisting mostly of RIS and PACS viewing software, servers and workstations. Workload will be allocated by the Trust's IT Service desk and the RIS/PACS Technical Lead.

Applications for which system support are currently provided (but not limited to) include:-

  • PACS
  • CRIS
  • UPACS
  • Radiology VR Software
  • iNtuition- Terrarecon
  • Siemens Syngo Via
  • Toshiba VES
  • IEP
  • IMS

The post holder will work within standard operating procedures, they will be required to use their own initiative to achieve their daily work but there will be a supervisor available for advice

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Good standard of education at GCSE or equivalent level
  • Experience of radiology computer systems / qualification such as European computer driving licence
  • Membership of Professional body concerned with Informatics (e.g. FedIP, BCS, UKCHIP) or Radiology (e.g. HCPC)

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience working within a helpdesk or similar supportive role within a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of RIS/PACS in a radiology department
  • Experience in teaching other staff
  • 2 years' experience in a Radiology IT systems support environment
  • Proven track record in provision of excellent customer service in a busy environment

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Highly effective communication skills - verbally and written to staff
  • Ability to use the radiology information system to pull up and change patient and examination data.
  • Able to maintain a level head in a busy environment
  • Willingness to learn new systems and Skills
  • Understanding the critical importance of confidentiality
  • Frequent use of VDU equipment every day
  • Participate out of hours support when necessary to support service upgrades or outages
