In recognising our commitment to closer working relationships as part of an acute provider collaborative, we are looking for an outstanding individual to join us as Joint Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer, and work across University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) and North Bristol NHS Trust.(NBT)
This is a hugely exciting, innovative, and ambitious role in a newly evolving Group Model environment, with a joint annual income of c £1.7b and over 21,000 dedicated staff.

UHBW and NBT are seeking an ambitious and influential senior leader that demonstrates the vision and leadership qualities to support significant digital innovation, with a focus on delivering a shared digital and data infrastructure providing a platform for transformation.
Main duties of the job
- Support the Joint Executive CDIO in the bringing together of teams across digital and data in both organisations into a single integrated team brining the best elements from both organisational cultures together to a provide a unified and user-centred experience.
- Lead with expertise, the on-going development and implementation of the UHBW and NBT strategic digital vision as an enabler of the joint clinical strategy
- Deputise for the joint Executive CDIO by working collaboratively with the Trust's digital senior leadership team and senior partners across the wider healthcare economy in Bristol North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). They will play a critical role in supporting the joint Executive CDIO in the full range of their internal and external responsibilities. The deputy CDIO is a member and serves on a variety of Trust committees, boards and events representing Digital. Critically they also act as an escalation point for major incidents and critical issues.

Essential
- Experience of managing a budget of circa £50m or larger and delivering significant and challenging annual savings plans.
- Extensive experience of managing at a senior level in a medium/large acute healthcare provider setting.
- A background in healthcare IT and a good understanding of the national NHS digital and clinical strategies
- Advanced knowledge and experience in managing large groups of personnel, significant budget, commercial contracts and supplier relationships and complex strategic programmes of work.
- Line management experience of leading a complex and varied team delivering a large portfolio of work across multidisciplinary teams.
- An excellent knowledge of the operations of a health and social care system, and the business processes that surround it
- Proven experience of implementing a multi-pound Trust/System wide IT System
- Experience of managing significant budgets, analysing financial reports, and making data-driven decisions
- A detailed knowledge and understanding of the Trust's clinical strategies, their enabling strategies, the ICS Digital Strategy and the NHS England Long Term Plan
- Experience of developing and maintaining relationships across an ICS
