Job summary
Applicants are invited to apply for this consultant radiologist post with a subspecialist interest in Musculoskeletal Radiology. The successful applicant would join a committed and diverse team of 30 consultant radiologists based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary (as part of Universities Bristol and Weston NHS Trust) in the thriving and cosmopolitan city of Bristol.
You will become an integral part of our dedicated team of Interventional Musculoskeletal Radiologists who have developed excellent working relationships with Orthopaedic surgery, Rheumatology, Haematology and Oncology, in addition to supporting community-based referrers.
There will be opportunities to advance specialist interests in the department, including image guided ablative techniques for bone lesions and modality-based imaging development.
There are clinical meetings regularly with rheumatology and weekly myeloma MDTThe successful candidate will be expected to provide cross sectional imaging reporting and support the various MDTs. (7.75 DCC plus 1.5 SPA and 0.75 for on call). Flexible working patterns are available to the appropriate candidate. A shared office with secretarial support will be provided, as well as home reporting stations.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will also support general and oncological radiology, assist in the smooth running of the directorate and work with colleagues in the provision of an effective and efficient service. The post will be predominantly based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary in the centre of Bristol, with on-site cover 1 day a week on the Weston General Hospital site.

We host approximately 17 Specialty Registrars from the Severn Deanery who support the acute and on call service. The appointee would be encouraged to be involved in the teaching and training of the registrars and also students from University of Bristol Medical School.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking English to enable effective communication, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical practice (2013). A GMC licence to practice is essential. The applicant should hold or be within 6 months of a CCT in Clinical radiology at the time of interview.
