A great opportunity has arisen in the department of Clinical Genetics for a full time Performance and Operations Manager.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the service and will support our expansion and development plans. This is a key position within the Specialised Services divisional management structure and will be highly visible, acting as the key management link with divisional team and contributing to the wider divisional agenda. We are looking for someone with operational management experience, strong service improvement and project management skills and proven experience of achieving key performance targets within the NHS. As you will be working closely with the Genetics, UHBW and external teams you will need excellent communication and negotiation skills and the confidence to engage with consultants and senior staff, challenge practice and make decisions, taking responsibility for their outcomes. The Department of Clinical Genetics at UHBW has been providing specialist adult and paediatric genetic services since 1989. Our service includes medical, genetic counselling and admin teams. There are close clinical and academic links with many departments within the hospital, including well-established cardiac and other MDT meetings. Peripheral clinics are provided across the region in Bath, Taunton, Yeovil and Gloucester.
