Specialist Senior Dental Officer -BandC Part-time - 22.5 hours per week (Up to 0.6 wte) Salary is NHS Salaried Dentists BandC -
(£88, 686 - £101. 923).
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the UHBW PrimaryCare Dental Service. We are looking for an experienced andcaringclinician with GDC specialist registration inPaediatricDentistry, to join our team of Dentists.
Your main area of responsibility will be to provide support and advice, including treatment planning/case discussions on complexpaediatricpatients with/forcolleagues working within the service.There will also be a treatment role, mainly for those patients unable to be treated by other Dental staff.
Experience of working alongside a Dental Therapist and in treatment of patients in a specialcare dental service setting and using sedation is essential.The post includes the provision of domiciliarycare and inhalation sedation and the provision of dentalcare under local anaesthesia as required.
You will have excellent, experienced nursing support. You will also be able to take an active role in peer review,clinical governance andclinical audit projects.
This role is very well supported by the PCDSClinical Director and Operations Manager.

The post of Band C PCDS Specialist Paediatric Dentist requires a degree of flexibility to meet the many challenges of providing a comprehensive and effective dental service for Paediatric patients throughout the BNSSG area. The post holder will be required to provide emergency and routine dental care for children with severe issues who are unable to receive care from elsewhere within the service.
The post will be based at one of the Health Centres, or Clinics in Bristol and the surrounding area, but will be required to work at other bases within the BNSSG catchment area to support the provision of this advanced service. The post holder will work alongside and is expected to support more junior clinicians with different competencies, or less experience and also Dental Therapists. The post holder will be expected to provide leadership at service level in paediatric dentistry, career development and mentoring for their team of clinicians and support staff.
There may also be opportunities to undertake clinical attachments within Bristol Dental Hospital. There is also an enthusiastic and well qualified Oral Health Promotion team. The post holder will be expected to contribute to service development activities within UHBW PCDS and to develop and maintain positive working relationships with commissioners and other Health Care partners such as General Dental and Medical Practitioners, who may refer patients.
