Then look no further than our friendly and experienced dietetic department by the sea in Weston-super-Mare. We are a team of 10 Dietitians underpinned by 5 Dietetic support workers plus administrative support, working as part of UHBW's larger Adult Nutrition and Dietetic Service based at the BRI.

We would like to offer you a comprehensive development package incorporating preceptorship, training and regular clinical supervision to launch your dietetic career in the right direction. You will benefit from working alongside specialist dietitians with expertise in a range of specialities including gastroenterology, diabetes, critical care, surgery, frailty, food policy, and oncology. You will also gain experience in supporting food policy initiatives, promoting MUST screening and you will have opportunities to deliver training and education to patients and healthcare staff.

Main duties of the job

Our band 5 positions typically cover a range of admission, medical, surgical and rehabilitation wards. The majority of the caseload will be inpatient facing, but outpatient services are also provided by our band 5 post holders to general clinic and MDT lipid clinic.

This includes the clinical teaching and assessment of dietetic students from the University of Plymouth joining us on their A, B and C placements.

Team members are required to work 2 bank holidays each year, and in the future work 1 in every 4 Saturday which you will contribute to with a corresponding day off in the working week.

You would be joining us at an exciting time as Weston General Hospital evolves to meet the needs of the local population through the "Healthy Weston Programme". For more information on "Healthy Weston'" Weston General Hospital and Weston-super-Mare please visit Healthy Weston (youtube.com).
