Job summary
Are you a Consultant Physician in General Internal Medicine looking for your next career move?
We are currently recruiting into our team on fixed term contracts with a view to permanent positions in the future. This is a pivotal time to join University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, as we continue to embed new ways of working to shape our future.
The BRI General Internal Medical service currently consists of two consultants, who work closely with other specialty teams including Acute Medicine, Respiratory and Care of the Elderly. As part of our strategy to improve inpatient care the Division of Medicine at UHBW is looking to appoint to a long term locum role to grow the General Internal Medicine service. Whilst the team is relatively small, the Division of Medicine is committed to developing a strong General Medical service and you will have a rare opportunity to influence and shape future services and models of care.
We will support colleagues' professional clinical areas of interest and are open to negotiations on your individual job plan. We are also very keen to hear from candidates who wish to follow a CESR pathway. The Trust has an established CESR lead role and is committed to supporting candidates though this process.
If you would like to arrange a departmental visit or an informal conversation please contact Dr Anne McCune, Clinical Director (Anne.McCune@uhbw.nhs.uk) or Emma-Kate Reed, (Emma-Kate.Reed@uhbw.nhs.uk) , Clinical Chair for Medicine.
Main duties of the job

The trust is developing its ambulatory care and frailty models, as well specialty 'admission avoidance' and hot clinics. This post offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the delivery of acute general medicine and support an effective model of care for patients.
