We are currently recruiting for an Estates Helideck Responder on a full time permanent basis. This role will be based within our Estates team, based in our Estates and Facilities department.

The purpose of this role is to provide safety support for inbound and outbound flights to the Trust elevated Helipad.

The post holder would be expected to complete visual checks prior to declaring the Helideck operational on a morning and support the arrival of both in-bound and outbound flights.

During periods of downtime on the Helideck it is envisaged that the post holder will spend the majority of their time undertaking Estates duties.

Main duties of the job

Your main duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Provide a "standby" fire / safety response at the UHB Elevated Helideck for all helicopter arrivals and departures in accordance with the Helideck Operational Procedure. Ensure health and safety awareness of the Helideck when on "standby" duty, ensuring safety of aircraft and personnel. and Helideck access is restricted to unauthorised personnel
  • Ensure PPE (personal protective equipment) is in full working order
  • Be capable of undertaking estates maintenance checks/tasks to building service equipment and other comparative duties within the Trust when not required at the helideck
  • Working with estates trade staff as and when requested by team leader.
  • Assist other members of staff within the Estates division as and when required

  • Have good standard of education and be numerate and literate
  • Have the ability to adhere to strict health and safety procedures
  • Have the ability to liaise with external agencies at non-technical level
  • Be able to work as a team member and to be a clear thinker

  • NVQ level 2 in an engineering function or the ability to work towards.

Knowledge
