Avon Partnership Occupational Health Service has 60 staff, it is a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, managers, and admin. APOHS operates from 3 main sites and provides occupational health services to a wide range of external businesses/customers (in excess of 100 companies).
It has been an exciting and transformational time for the APOHS service. To continue this journey, we are looking for an experienced business transformational leader with the skills and experience to lead a very competent and enthusiastic multi disciplinary team who work across numerous sites.
The successful candidate will be a role model for the Trust values and leadership behaviours, delivering to the highest standards and promoting a positive inclusive and compassionate culture throughout the organisation, given this role will work alongside Organisational Development and Wellbeing and Psychology Service Leads.

Main duties of the job
- Overall responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the running of APOHS business, reporting to partnership board for assurance.
- Responsible and accountable for strategic and operational management of an efficient, high quality and value for money advisory OH service to NHS Partners and external organisations under contract.
- Direct strategic leadership to the BNSSG Healthier Together working with the SRO across 14 partner organisations reporting to ICS People Board.
- Improve, promote best practice in OH on basis of research, evidence and evaluation; seek income generation and commercialisation opportunities.
- Establish, implement overall strategy and direction for Programmes, design long-term business strategies, manage daily operations to guarantee efficiency, working with Programme Boards of partner Trust Boards and external business customers alongside senior Clinical Leads in developing and implementing them.
- Responsible and accountable to the APOHS Partnership board for the daily performance and delivery of programmes and functions in line with agreed quality standards, working closely with the Lead Clinicians
- Agree and manage complex budgets in excess of £3 million and associated finances through robust Annual Business Plans
- Ensure compliance with responsibilities imposed by OH guidance and legislation, maximise and promote the health of all employees, reducing risk of cases of occupational ill health developing, championing best practice in OH provision.
