Adult ICU Staff Nurse wanting experience in Paediatric ICU (PICU)
Bristol Royal Hospital for Children hosts the regional Paediatric Intensive Care Unit for the south west region of England with 18 beds. We provide a tertiary service for all paediatric sub specialities: trauma, burns, neurosurgery, general surgery, cardiology/cardiac surgery, renal transplant, respiratory, ENT, metabolic medicine, neurology. The unit also provides supra regional critical care support to the children with congenital heart disease in south Wales with WATCh, our retrieval service, supporting the critical care transport requirements for this population.
We have an unique opportunity for experienced adult nurses with critical care experience to join our friendly and inclusive team to learn new skills in order to improve knowledge about caring for paediatric patients in a supportive environment.
A bespoke education package is offered in a department with strong research links and opportunities for a number of link roles. Continuing professional development is actively encouraged.
We have permanent and fixed term (minimum 12 months) opportunities in our intensive care unit for enthusiastic and committed nurses who have significant adult critical care experience to join us and we welcome informal visits to come and meet the team.
