An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Quality Assurance Specialist to join the Pharmacy Production team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust. You will be joining a friendly and progressive department and we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team.This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to take the next step and develop their career in technical services quality assurance. The Pharmacy production unit is currently undergoing a re-structure with a focus on quality assurance.

The post holder will be part of a three person team based in the production unit with additional support from our internal quality assurance/control department.

You will join a team that wants to create an environment that has a real focus on quality, implementing new developments and ideas and ensuring that current and future Good Manufacturing Practice and professional standards are achieved.The unit holds 'Specials' and Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) licenses as well as aseptic dispensing of products under Section 10 exemption and Pharmacist supervision.The Pharmacy Production department provides a wide range of aseptic and non-sterile products including monoclonal antibodies, gene therapy, CIVAS, and the manufacture and dispensing of IMPs.

There are a number of exciting developments in the pipeline, providing opportunities to further develop and broaden your skills.

Main duties of the job

To ensure Quality Management activities are carried out so that all products manufactured are fit for use and supplied in a timely manner. The post holder will report directly to the Quality lead, while working within a team of Senior Pharmacy Technicians, each with dedicated responsibilities. This role encompasses distinct areas of responsibility as detailed below. The post holder will also be expected to perform operational activities as well as working on improvement projects, and is expected to manage their own time in respect of their quality assurance role.

QA specific duties: Supervising Quality Assurance activities in the Pharmacy Production unit to ensure they are completed, reported and appropriate action is taken according to unit procedures, with support from the PQS technical officer.

Staff Management:. Supervising Pharmacy technicians, SATOs and ATOs for the quality assurance aspects of their roles.

Other responsibilities: Other duties undertaken as part of the Band 6 role, but are not job role specific
