The successful candidate will provide medical cover for our inpatients in the respiratory ward and see referrals from other teams. They will also take part in outpatient clinics. They will be expected to deliver a keen and active role in day-to-day management of patients.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our clinical team for a 12 month post between August 2023 and August 2024. Applicants will be expected to provide SpR-level (ST3+) medical cover for our inpatients in the department of respiratory medicine, working as part of a multi-professional team. They will also take part in outpatient clinics and see ward referrals from other teams. The successful candidate will work within a team of 3 respiratory SpRs on the ward. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the General Medicine on call rota which currently consists of 16 registrars.

The post is available to applicants who have clinical experience and qualifications equivalent to ST3 level or above. This post is not accredited as part of a speciality training programme. This post will however provide an opportunity to gain excellent experience in the management of acute and chronic respiratory and general medical patients and to develop your PDP.
Applications are invited for the full-time post of Specialty Registrar in Respiratory and General Medicine. This is initially for a fixed term period of 12 months with the potential to extend. The successful candidate should have the relevant experience in respiratory at ST3+ or equivalent level. They would be expected to offer a full-time commitment, which includes participation in the general medicine on-call rota.
