Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Pelvic Health Team at UHBW NHS Foundation Trust (CQC rated Good). This is fixed-term, part time post, based betweenSt. Michaels Hospital and Bristol Royal infirmary.

The Pelvic Health Team covers a range of work including; pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain, continence (female and male), pelvic pain conditions and obstetric ward cover. The post holder will work closely with the rest of the pelvic health therapy team as well as the wider multidisciplinary team and musculoskeletal teams. Previous experience in pelvic health is desirable.

You will be supported by highly skilled and experienced band 7s, the wider MSK team and the Adult Therapies MSK Pathway and Divisional Lead. You will have the opportunity to participate in a robust in-service-training .

This is an exciting time to join the Pelvic Health Team. The local integrated care system of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) has been awarded the status of an Early Implementer for the NHS England maternity transformation project aiming to improve prevention, identification, and treatment of 'mild to moderate' pelvic floor dysfunction following birth.

At the point of interview, there may be additional hours and fixed term roles available at this level within the Pelvic Health Team at UHBW.

Main duties of the job

Band 6 Physiotherapists are experienced clinicians - having completed the core rotations as a Band 5 Physiotherapist. The post-holder will act as an autonomous practitioner, providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment, and managing their own patient caseload within a speciality team, with the support and mentoring of senior specialist physiotherapists. They will supervise and train junior members of staff, Technical Instructors and Students as required. The post-holder will work within the Pelvic Health Team as part of the Musculoskeletal Therapy service

Working patterns include late working shifts and may include weekend working.

  • Health and Care Professions Council registered
  • A variety of experience in core areas as post graduate physiotherapist i.e. musculoskeletal, Trauma & Orthopaedics, respiratory and neurological dealing with a wide range of patients with differing needs
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Desirable

  • Involvement in Relevant Special Clinical Interest Groups
  • Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecology Physiotherapy Network - Pelvic Health Physiotherapy: female urinary dysfunction - entry level course or similar

Knowledge and Experience

  • Evidence of previous experience and participation in audit
