Job summary
The post holder, in conjunction with the Team Manager, will be responsible for managing patients with positive genital Chlamydia results. They will give results, arrange treatment and initiate partner notification. They will develop and maintain sustainable working relationships with all relevant organisations and partners.
- Act as a resource for staff and the public in the understanding of Chlamydia.
- Provide support to screening sites across BNSSG and BANES
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the service
- Participate in the management of people who have a positive Chlamydia diagnosis and their partners
- Support coordinator in operationally managing the day to day running of the Chlamydia screening service
- In conjunction with the Team Manager support the implementation of national recommendations and policies, interpreting and adapting them for local implementation within the Chlamydia screening service.
- Contribute to effective team working between Chlamydia screening, Primary Care, Secondary and Tertiary sexual health service

Main duties of the job
- To support the Team Manager in the delivery, evaluation and auditing of the Chlamydia screening programme across the designated screening areas.
- Manage a clinical caseload of clients generated by an effective screening programme and provide expert clinical advice, discussing issues related to sexual health within local guidelines. This will involve undertaking interviews, giving appropriate treatment as per Patient Group Directions and undertaking any follow up action necessary including contact tracing;
- Identify vulnerable, at risk clients and refer on to appropriate services.
- Provide and maintain statistical data.
- Contribute to and implement change effectively in response to demands of the screening programme and agree standards of care.
- To be prepared to work flexible hours as some of the work may fall outside "normal working hours".
- Undertake any additional appropriate duties in agreement with the line manager.
