Due to our existing post holder having been promoted we are looking for our next band 7 Pharmacist in gynaecology. The post is based in our St Michaels hospital base working alongside a team of senior pharmacists, rotational junior pharmacists technicians, pharmacy assistants and student techncician apprentices

This post will give you good oppertunity to develop your clinical skills in a an area of secpiality, use your prescibing skills (or undertake training to become a prescriber) and do some day to day management of a small team with support of senior managers. The st michaels pharmacy team is small and friendly and you will also have good opertunity to work alongside lots of specialist pharmacists in the wider University Hospitals Bristol and Weston team including our highly specialist team of paediatric pharmacists.

St Michaels hospital houses a mixture of specialities including maternity service, gynaecology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Ear, Nose and throat, audiology and day surgery.

Main duties of the job

Note in order to meet the personal spec requirements for this position you will need to have the first year of a pharmacy clinical diploma (clinical certificate equivalence), as well as a masters pharmacy degree and also have a minimum of a years experience of working as a pharmacist in the UK.

  • Work with the other onsite pharmacists to develop, maintain and monitor a high quality, cost effective clinical pharmacy service to the St. Michael's Hospital site.
  • Provide a clinical pharmacy service to the gynaecology wards and outpatient settings working alongside the other specialist pharmacists, rotational pharmacists, and the medicines management/checking technicians.
  • Work with the checking Pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and student technician apprentices providing them with first line management support, supervising and directing pharmacy staff to complete accurate, appropriate, and timely work.
