Job summary
Bristol Royal Infirmary Emergency Department is offering 2 senior clinical fellow posts with a special interest in Community Emergency Medicine.
Community Emergency Medicine is an evolving model of emergency care in the UK which aims to "take the emergency department to the patient," with a combination of experienced ED clinicians, equipment, and MDT working. As part of the post you will work in close collaboration with the local ambulance service, in hospital specialty teams, community providers and patients groups to develop an innovative service.
Main duties of the job
Bristol Community Emergency Medicine Service (CEMS) has been commissioned to run a pilot for 3 months between April and August 2022. Following on from this there will be a planned period of learning and development before rolling out a full service the following year.

You will benefit from management experience as well as gaining an understanding of prehospital care systems, counting towards eligibility for the diploma of immediate medical care.
The skills and experience gained during this time will make you well placed to take on a clinical role with the Bristol CEMS when it is rolled out.

Essential
- Able to assess, resuscitate and stabilise acutely sick patients
- Able to participate as key member of cardiac arrest team
- Demonstrates good clinical judgement
- Completed specialist skills courses (e.g. difficult airways, ATLS/APLS, ultrasound course, etc....
- Understands audit and governance processes
Desirable
- Designed and / or completed audits

Qualifications and Training

- Registered with General Medical Council (UK)
- At least 24 months full-time hospital service as a trainee in the Foundation (or higher) grade. No unexplained career gaps
- Advanced Life Support provider
- Previous experience of working in critical care in the British Healthcare system (not observing)
- Specialist Interest intent and evidence of interest

- Intermediate EM/ MRCP/MRCS (Part 1) or equivalent
- Other membership, fellowship or diplomas
