We have new and exciting opportunity to support 6 Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs) through a fixed term 2 year apprenticeship programme.

The six full-time apprenticeship positions will be employed by Pharmacy Workforce Development South (PWDS) (part of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust) and deployed in training settings across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Successful candidates will undertake an innovative two-year apprenticeship with rotational placements in three settings including GP Practices, Community Pharmacy, Hospital pharmacy, Community Health Services with 'taster' placements in other sectors of practice to offer a wide variety of exposure to pharmacy services and pharmacy technician practice.

Main duties of the job

You are required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently and accurately, pay attention to detail and be able to integrate into multiple teams. You do not need previous experience of working in a pharmacy but experience of working in any healthcare environment will be beneficial.

You will need to be highly committed to achieve this qualification as it requires participation and completion of a robust, high quality training and competency program. You will need to demonstrate excellent work/study/life balance skills and be very self-motivated. You will benefit from the full support of an Educational Supervisor, practice supervisors and the PWDS team throughout your training programme.

Due to the rotational nature of placements candidates must be willing and able to travel between sites.

Please only apply for this position if you meet all the minimum eligibility criteria as defined in the Person Specification.

Applications which do not meet the minimum academic or apprenticeship funding requirements will not be shortlisted. Due to the requirements of this demanding training experience, it is preferred that successful candidates will be employed on a full-time contract. However, part-time will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
