Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, dynamic British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accredited echocardiogram department in the centre of Bristol, on a fixed term basis.

This is an opportunity to experience working in a tertiary centre setting, with exposure to a range of complex pathologies.

Applicants should hold the BSE transthoracic echocardiography accreditation or equivalent, be competent to issue independent reports and provide teaching for medical and non-medical staff.

The post holder may be required to work work flexibly at multiple sites, but core hours will be Monday to Friday (other patterns will be considered at the candidates request).

Main duties of the job

Perform and report adult transthoracic studies to meet British Society of Education and internal guidelines.

Perform and report a range of complex studies, to include adult congenital heart disease , inherited cardiac conditions, pre and post operative studies to include TAVi, Mitraclip and Tendyne studies.

To train other sonographers and health care professionals to perform echocardiograms.

To be fully involved in quality improvement processes.
