Senior Clinical Fellow

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST6 to post CCT) at St Michael's Hospital, University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is for a 12 month period, and is due to become available in August 2022.

St Michael's Hospital is a large teaching hospital closely linked with the University of Bristol. We can offer Senior Clinical Fellows experience in a range of areas including Maternal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, labour ward leadership, Ambulatory Gynaecology, Early Pregnancy, Paediatric Adolescent Gynaecology, Risk Management and Patient Safety.

The successful candidate will contribute to the senior on-call rota and hence competence on labour ward at a senior level (ST6+) is essential.

Annual leave and study leave are covered prospectively. As a valued member of the team you will be included in the educational and training activities of the unit and encouraged to contribute to the teaching of nurses, midwives and other junior doctors.

The post will provide excellent experience for someone wishing to consolidate their previous experience and training and gain further ATSMs in areas of specialist interest.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from a committed and enthusiastic doctor for the above post. The post-holder will work within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at St Michael's, supported by the friendly and cohesive consultant team. According to individual interest, they will be able to gain experience in some of the many specialist services that are offered. This post is ideal for doctors who have been working in the speciality for several years (including post CCT holders) who now wish to gain experience or further ATSMs in areas including, but not limited to, Maternal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, Labour ward leadership, Ambulatory Gynaecology, Early Pregnancy, Paediatric Adolescent Gynaecology, Risk Management and Patient Safety. The post holder will be expected to undertake audit and will join in the education programme of the department as well as contributing to the full shift on-call rota (3rd on call) which is EWTD compliant.
