Job summary

We have an exciting new position as Clinical Lead Band 7 Physiotherapist in Surgery & Prehabilitation, who will work within the wider Critical Care, Cardiac & Surgery Therapy Team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual who is passionate about optimising patients and delivering high quality care throughout the patients pathway. The post holder will develop, run and expand the current Prehab service, providing the seamless transition from pre-operative to peri-operative care.

This is a very exciting role and will involve working alongside the Therapy Pathway Lead to develop the service and working closely with the Surgical specialist multi-disciplinary teams, the pre-operative department, the ward teams and through to the Personalised Care and Support Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide highly specialist interventions to patients both face to face and virtually. They will line manage a rotational Band 6 Physiotherapist and a Band 4 Therapy Technician.

The caseload currently involves patients undergoing major surgery within the Thoracic, Upper GI, Colo-rectal, Hepato-bilary, gynae, Max-fax and ENT specialties. The post holder will be key to helping expand and develop this service to all surgical and non surgical specialties across the UHBW sites.

We run a level of 6 day working so the post holder will be required to work 1:4 Satuday's and 2 Bank Holidays in a year.
