Job summary

Duties will involve the ward based care of patients who have been admitted to hospital with a wide range of acute medical problems. The successful applicant may also be part of the general medical on-call rota working both day and night shifts to cover ward areas and acute admissions. Some flexibility during times of peak patient activity and/or bed occupancy in covering other teams may be required.

Main duties of the job

The post has an on-call commitment, at the same frequency as the other F2/ACCS/IMT/GPVTS trainees. During the Oncology placement the post holder will contribute to a low volume specialty specific admission and ward cover rota based in the Bristol Haematology and Oncology centre(BHOC). Clinical fellows will have a consultant providing support. They will also have the opportunity to attend local teaching and speciality departmental meetings. Study leave will be provided in accordance with Trust guidelines for CMT/ACCS posts.
