Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a cardiologist with specific interest in Inherited Cardiac Conditions and Cardiac MRI to join our rapidly growing team. This is a post created to support the increasing workload in the department. The post is whole-time (10 PA) and in accordance with Trust policy for consultant appointments, a minimum of 1.5PAs will be available for supporting professional activities.

We are looking for dynamic individuals who want to join our team. It is envisaged that the post-holder will contribute to both the expanding Cardiac MRI and the Inherited Cardiac Conditions service. An on-call service for non-invasive cardiology is the on-call rota commitment on an approximately 1 in 9 basis with cross cover.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be provided with an adequately equipped office, including information technology facilities and will have secretarial and administrative support.

The contract will be held with the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will also have responsibilities to develop and contribute to continuing education, professional development, audit and research within the Division and the Trust.

Applicants should hold MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification and should be on the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register, or be within 6 months of their CCT date at interview.
