Job summary
LOCUM CONSULTANT PAEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGIST
This is a paediatric cardiology locum post for 12 months to cover maternity leave. Whilst a variety of specialist interests' expertise will be considered, a priority focus is on those with proven expertise in fetal cardiology.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to participate in all aspects of the paediatric cardiology service. This includes the care of inpatients within the Bristol Children's Hospital ('BRHC') and on the neonatal unit situated on the St Michael's Hospital site.The post-holder will have a key role to play in the team of cardiologists led by Dr Andrew Tometzki Clinical Director for Paediatric Cardiac Services and will provide:o Attendance at JCC (Joint cardiac conference) twice weeklyo Attendance at Grand Round with the paediatric cardiology teamo 'On Service' cardiologist -short-term responsibility (for one week at a time) for all cardiac inpatients liaising with the patient's designated cardiologist/cardiac surgeon as appropriate.o On call evening and weekend service as part of rotao Regular paediatric cardiology clinics at BRHCo Attendance at relevant MDTso Attendance and participation at Cardiac Governance and Business meetings.o outpatient sessions at tertiary peripheral clinic/clinicso fetal cardiology clinicsThe post holder will have proven expertise in fetal cardiology

- Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or
- Eligible for specialist registration within approximately 6 months of interview (for example after submission of CESR documentation) or
- Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or evidence of being within 6 months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview
