Job summary
We are looking for a Cardiologist to join our team on a full time basis with no medical on call and a negotiable Cardiology on call commitment. This is a replacement post for a retiring general Cardiologist. It is a 10 Programmed Activity (PA) post comprising of 7.5 PA Direct Clinical Care and 2.5 PA Supporting Professional Activity.
It would suit someone with broad general Cardiology skills and experience, yet also wishing to practice and develop a subspecialty, and for whom work life balance is important.
The successful applicant will join a team of 3 Consultants and an Associate Specialist, ably supported by an excellent and established multidisciplinary team.
The Trust is soon to merge with Taunton and Somerset Foundation Trust. The merged Cardiology departments will have a total of 20 Consultants and will provide Cardiology care to all of Somerset and some of North and West Dorset.
We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, and within easy reach of the Jurassic Coast and beaches. From Yeovil access is good to London, the South Coast, the Bath and Bristol area, and the South West.

Main duties of the job
- With others, to deliver a comprehensive urgent inpatient and elective outpatient Cardiology service at Yeovil District Hospital, taking into account the successful applicant's sub-specialty interests and expertise.
- With others, to organise, manage and support Cardiology diagnostic and treatment services provided by the Cardiology Department at Yeovil District Hospital.
